Why Hot Yoga?
Hot Yoga facilitates deeper stretching, injury prevention, stress and tension relief, and systematically stimulates and restores health to every muscle, joint, and organ of the body. 60 minutes in our state of the art temperature and moisture controlled studio creates approximately the same amount of perspiration as a 10 kilometer run!
Studies show that most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in the fat cells of our bodies. When our bodies exceed the limit that we can excrete, we begin to store these toxins, which greatly compromises our physiological and psychological health and leads to chronic disease. Perspiration is recognized by health practitioners worldwide as perhaps the most effective method of removing both difficult chemical and heavy metal toxins from the body.
The temperature during class triggers the body’s thymus to produce white blood cells and killer T cells, which increases the generation of antibodies and the production of interferon, resulting in a strengthened immune system. The heat also causes the tiny blood vessels in the skin to expand and the heart rate to rise, increasing blood circulation.
Sedona Hot Yoga was founded in 2010 by Jennifer Richards. Jennifer suffered from chronic migraines, degenerative disc disease and multiple bulging discs. After being put on bed rest and recommended for surgery, Jennifer decided to go against the status quo and use her life savings to instead open a hot yoga studio in hopes a daily heated yoga practice would heal her spine. Amazingly, the leap of faith was the perfect cure. Not only is she pain free, she lost over 50 pounds from her heaviest weight and is a champion for those seeking to become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves possible. Since the first studio opened in 2010, Jennifer has since added a second location in Cottonwood, AZ and founded a healthy fast-food restaurant called Wholesome Fast Food. Jennifer's life has also been radically transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and in her personal experiences with Jesus Christ. She feels a strong call to hold a space of compassion, non-judgement and LOVE for all those seeking to become the highest version of themselves, regardless of their religion and beliefs. Even though Jennifer's classes are not "religious" in nature, many students feel the comfort and love of God in her studios. It is our greatest joy to serve the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of our precious community. We welcome ALL, locals and visitors, to enjoy our transformational classes and trainings!

Functional Vinyasa Flow
Functional Flow is a vigorous power flow influenced by Ashtanga Yoga, Functional Range Conditioning and Animal Flow. We will be exploring poses from primary, secondary and third series as well as work on mobility and strength. Emphasis is on synching the breath with the movement and developing more range of motion. You can expect longer holds, lots of core work, functional drills, and creative transitions. Suited for those with yoga experience who are looking for a more active class.
Yin yoga and Crystal Bowls
Yin yoga and sound healing combine beautifully in this slow-paced practice of gentle stretching and surrender. Allow the waves of the crystal bowls sound to wash over you, harmonizing your body, mind and spirit. Yin yoga calms the nervous system while gently stretching the muscles, joints and connective tissues.
Gentle Yoga and Kundalini
A unique combination of Hatha, Flow, and Kundalini for health, wellness and awakening. Along with the poses and asanas, her classes focus on true nature, presence, and healing from within.
Yin yoga is a slow form of yoga that uses longer holds for increased energy flow, flexibility, and emotional release. In this class, we avoid using our muscles and use lots of props to support our practice. We hold poses for 3-5 minutes, and focus on our breath, physical and emotional tension release, and relaxation. While we relax, our body is repairing and restoring cells and opening up our connective tissue and fascia, which leads to increased flexibility and hydration. Yin yoga is a great way to support any other sports you practice, including a more dynamic yogic practice like vinyasa or Bikram, and also a way to relax and breathe. You can come to class expecting a relaxing experience with atmospheric music, satisfyingly long holds, and a great focus on the breath.
Gentle yoga is a bridge between moving in flow and staying stationary. It is a midway, where there is equilibrium and bliss in every pose.
In gentle yoga, you take time to feel your body move. Breath and movement are pathways to keep the organs healthy and joints lubricated. You stay in a pose long enough to enjoy that you are not pushing yourself. The body gets rid of toxins naturally. Mostly, gentle yoga helps you have a sound mind to dictate and nurture the cells in the body.
